Hi, Like it says I'm researching 648 Coy RASC ( ADT). It was my grandads unit. I've already found info on this site, and been given by info by site members I couldn't find anywhere else. Thanks
These might help - we do have members who offer the service of copying TNA files but obviously at the moment everything is locked down 648 Coy | The National Archives 648 Coy. | The National Archives 648 Coy. | The National Archives TD
Hi TD. I've been to the National Archives and photographed those documents. Currently Typing them up, not to a very high standard, Missing out posting etc. They don't include as much detail as some I've seen. Thanks Darren

Hi Darren, I am from Balen, Belgium and the 648 Coy was here from 23/10/1944 to 10/3/1945 ( 140 days ) I started a tread in the " unit history RASC " " RASC 648 Coy AT help info", there you will find some documents from the 648 Coy I am very interested in the documents from Kew, period September 1944 to April 1945, and I will appreciate if you share these with me. Regards, vriendelijke groeten Hendrik
Hi Darren, I found the war diaries starting March 1945 of the 648 Coy on the website : Pegasusarchive ( war diaries 2nd Army ) but not these of 1944, so I am still interested in these Regards, vriendeljjke groeten; Hendrik
Hi Darren, If you are interested in the organisation to which the 648 Coy belonged, I can provide you with some information about it. From October 1944 to March 1945, the 648 Coy operated in ARH8 ( Army Roadhead 8). They were commanded by the 44 Tpt Coln. The attached note is from WO 171/2250 and deals with the organisation of ARH 8. On the website of the Imperial War Museum you can also watch a number of films from ARH 8. the title is "RASC Transport Companies in service No 8 ARH in northern Belgium" The map is a map of the main railway stations where the RASC Coys worked. Could you also take a look at " RASC - RASC 648 Cot AT help" there I did some clarifications and placed additional documents. If you are interested in other notes regarding the organisation of ARH 8, please let me know. Regards, vriendelijke groeten Hendrik
