    Hi
I am trying to find information about Herbert Buckley who was in the Cold Stream Guard'sI do not know his Service no or Battalion number, However I do know he was injured in the battle for Monte Casino during WW2. like his brothers he joined just before the outbreak of war. If any has information that could help me with finding his details so we can research his wartime experience's It is very possible he was on support.
I would like to thank you in anticipation of information

    Hi
See post number 2 on this link.

If you have DOB, full name and proof of death, e.g. death certificate, your application should go through. The '25yr rule' applies to non-NOK applications - i.e. if death is less than 25 yrs ago then only limited information will be released to anyone who is not, or has not got consent of, next of kin.
If you can supply extra info for cross reference such as approximate date of enlistment, residence, next-of-kin at the time, that might help.

    Good luck

    Hi, Kat
Well, for a start unless you know he had a healthy libido, its Coldstream Guards (not cold stream!) named for the town and not icy water!

As you've been advised on previous post, the best way to build up his military service is to apply for his Service Records.
Only then can we give you proper help, not speculation.

As you know his Service Number, do you not have anything else to identify his Regiment, medals, letters, even photos may help identify his unit.
The more you give us the better we can help you.

From your details, these are the family members you are interested in.

Do you think it likely that both James and Herbert would have enlisted at the same time, and into the Coldstream Guards?
BUCKLEY, STANLEY. Rank: Guardsman. Service No: 2666373. Date of Death: 20/09/1944. Age: 21.
    Regiment/Service: Coldstream Guards 5th Bn.
Grave Reference: 18. B. 6. Cemetery: JONKERBOS WAR CEMETERY.

Or was it simply because Stanley was in the regiment?

Is this chap also a relative?
BUCKLEY, FRANK. Rank: Private. Service No: 14206592. Date of Death: 21/09/1944. Age: 21.
Regiment/Service: Border Regiment 1st (Airborne) Bn.
Grave Reference: 26. B. 15. Cemetery: ARNHEM OOSTERBEEK WAR CEMETERY.

(and I think you'll find it wasn't necessarily the planners of Market Garden that were to blame, i believe the Germans interfered!)
