Hi all, I have recently been trying to research my Great-Grandad called Henry William Penny, all I currently know about comes from my grandads birth certificate and a few family story's, I know that he was a sergeant pilot and his service number was 1379921 I think he flew a wellington and at some point was badly injured in a crash, I believe he was barn around 1912 in East Ham and died 25th December 1975. Any help finding any further information on his service/crash would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Luca

England & Wales, Civil Registration Death Index, 1916-2007 Name: Henry William Penny Death Age: 62 Birth Date: 20 Mar 1912 Registration Date: Oct 1974 [Nov 1974] [Dec 1974] Registration Quarter: Oct-Nov-Dec Registration District: Stockport Inferred County: Cheshire Volume: 39 Page: 1571 Is this him? TD Oh and follow CL1's advice and send off for his service records, they should tell you the date of the crash and which Squadron he was with then the details can be found in the Squadron ORB's (records or official diaries, but you need to know which Squadron and when)
Thanks for the help everyone, I'll apply for the service record and hopefully be able to find out some more information. Thanks, Luca
