Been searching through some photographs and came across this one of a member of the family in a uniform.

I know the badges are not clear, but just thought I would give it a try and see if anyone had any ideas as to which regiment he would belong to.

Cant zoom in any closer as the original photo is very small and this one is already zoomed in. Had to attach it as pdf as it wouldnt let me with jpg etc. Even though the file size was right, I see there is a thread discussing this.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated,

    All the best

    Scott

    Lanyard ?

At first sight I thought that might be helpful.... my first unit was RA and I have snaps showing me wearing a lanyard. However, in 1944 I finished up in the Royal Armoured Corps and I've just looked again at another snap BBC - WW2 People's War - Trieste had its funny moments
    that clearly shows a lanyard.

The cap badge is comparitively large, that should help, and if enough people get searching it should be able to be identified.

    Good luck

Royal signals wore lanyards as well. As do the RAOC but theirs is of two colours.

The badge is only partiat on the photo so it would be difficult to identify.

Have you got the picture in Jpeg form Scott?
Much easier to get a good enlargement from them.
    Cheers,
    Adam.

I will try and post again but when i tried it would not let me attach it in any other form. There is a thread saying that there is a problem with attachments.

    Will give it another go.

    Cheers
