I assume you are the buyer of his items as shown on:WWII SECOND WORLD WAR - PARACHUTE BATTALION & RELATED ITEMS

Providing a copy here of the documents might help. I note the auction link refers to him being 3rd Parachute / 3 Para.

    Wiki states:
Link: 3rd Battalion, Parachute Regiment - Wikipedia

In view of the battalion's heavy losses at Arnhem I checked the CWGC records, neither his name or Service Number appear. So he must have survived, possibly taken as prisoner, or perhaps was not dropped into Arnhem.

There is a Para veteran here, who visits, but their usual reference is NT for Syson. See: A living history of The Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces | ParaData

Strange one this as 4468025 Albert Syson joined the Durham Light Infantry in October 1940, Private Syson was declared unfit for armed service after sustaining facial injuries which caused difficulty breathing (non battle related) and was medically discharged in June 1941?
The related paperwork and his war medal (his only entitlement) were sold in May 2018 (Auction Lot SC26/229) by
    Bearnes Hampton & Littlewood
    Okehampton Street
    St Edmund's Court
    Exeter, EX4 1DU

Definate reference to `A` Company 3 Para however I dont think they were even formed when this soldier was discharged ? Syson was discharged in June 1941 the 3 Para were formed in September 1941 ? If he recovered from his injuries and rejoined later (he would retain his army number) would he not have a new paybook ,this one has no dates beyond 1941 . He was also already medically downgraded to `C` `fit for home service only` in January 41 when discharged he would have been Cat `D` . No discharge stamp either ?
Like I mention `Strange` perhaps forum member AB64 can give an opinion on why there is a `random ` para stamping on an old paybook . I have no knowledge of these books so will leave the debate to those more knowledgeable . Single medal entitlement too ?

    Strange

East Bristol Auctions are rather infamous in the militaria collecting community, I understand.

It is curious the OP author only has the pay book, when other items were shown for sale in 2018. Secondly, the pay book has one Parachute Regiment stamp and nothing else.

it is mad why the stamp . the only thing i can think of is that has been put in there . , only to fool ?? just a shame that the old photos of the sale in 2018 do not show the book with it in ??

Oddly I saw a paybook stamped C Coy 2nd Parachute Battalion a couple of months ago where the layout etc of the stamp was the same except "C" & "2" and it had a date in the middle - again it was from East Bristol Auctions, I checked it with someone I know who has access to very detailed resources and he had no record of this man ever being with the Parachute Regiment - I left it as I figured it was a bogus stamp added to an original book.

Paybooks don't normally include unit stamps, there were specific instruction I believe not to identify units and where they had already been done they are often scratched out

Also worth noting all entries end early 1941 but from what I can see 3rd Battalion wasn't formed until September 1941

Interesting to see it now listed on eBay, had me excited for a moment but I recognised it and checked back to see that it was this one - its been listed as a Parachute Regiment book and is cheap so sure someone will jump on it and think they have got a bargain

I'm surprised it hasn't gone already - at that price a wartime Para one would be grab quick and check it after (which I almost did) but as soon as I opened it I thought I know that stamp
