    Hi Guys,
I am doing a "Closing the Falaise Gap" scene in 1/32 and I want to show a PIAT and a round for it. PIAT is painted, but......
The only reference I have for the round says it "was painted green and had red crosses on the charge"
I need a little more detail than that. (Har-har)
    Anyone want to help?
    Thanks in advance...

    What a great site.
I'd never seen those British grenades with what look like stabilising 'tails' either

I'd thought only the Japanese, and possibly Germans (though German use might be based on a misconception in an intelligence report) had indulged in that style.

Really isn't much explosive in a 2pdr HE round is there... more like a standard grenade.

    Cheers,
    Adam.

Sorry no but came across this regarding PIAT,

Made me chuckle a little, especially the comments at the bottem

This one got me laughing. "the enemy soon learned to recognize the loud *SPROINGGGGG!* whenever it was fired. Followed by “Bollocks! ‘ow the bleedin’ ‘ell are you supposed to compress this bloomin’ thing again, mate?”." :D I'm guessing that Sapper would agree with the sentiment of of the line, considering his previous protestations when referring to the weapon.

I'm guessing that the page is right of center in it's general perspective?:p

Looking at this page Visual Collector Links - WWI and WWII British and Canadian Grenades which were the more commonly used WWII era grenades?

Yes, that made me giggle too. Always remember the story of some Tommy winning a VC by destroying some German tanks (the 'scary' ones Tiger/Panther), by advancing firing a PIAT from the hip. It seemed most soldiers at the time thought he deserved a VC for just firing the thing from the hip!
