Hello.

Discussion in 'User Introductions' started by Intellectualism, Dec 9, 2025.

  1. Hello. I am Intellectualism and am delighted to be a part of this novel forum.

I am a student and am inevitably attracted to theories about the ideological expansion of World War II. I have been a nomad among forums, no matter their language or their interests. In fact, I have perused various forums and have been disillusioned with their tactics and their superficiality.

I tend to be controversial in terms of the strength of my opinions and the conviction that I possess. However, my extreme fortitude can be rewarded at times, as my analyses are rather exhaustive and my replies are comprehensive.

I am glad to find a forum that is rather dedicated and am looking forward to debating and conversing.

Here is some information that is compiled from other forums:

    MBTI: INTJ-T
    Enneagram: 5
Interests: History, politics, philosophy, thought, metacognition
Other usernames: Intellectualism, Intellectual Philosopher, Intellectual, Intelectuales, Intellectuel, Sillafu, The Best of Times (these may change, but I like firm usernames that stay for a while).

Ah so you are an intellectual by the looks of things.
    Welcome to the forum.

    You state

“I tend to be controversial in terms of the strength of my opinions and the conviction that I possess.”

Will be interested how this pans out.

  3. Thank you for the reply. I do not want to say that I am a strong debater, it is merely that my interpretation can be controversial and more systemic than granular.

Do you know how many posts may appear per week on this forum?

Many posts and new threads each week.
Is there a specific theatre/ theater of WW2 you are interested in.

  5. I am interested in the European theatre and the expansion of ideology that formed the backbone of modern affairs, which was the principal reason I joined this forum.

Thank you for the information regarding threads. I enjoy places that are quite busy and... intellectual.

Welcome to this Forum from Germany.
I have one request, try to argue in modern easy English, so that a foreigner can join in.

  8. For sure! One of my weaknesses is "purple prose," which is elaborating ideas when they can be expressed in a simple way. I don't speak German, but I do speak French and Spanish.

I amongst others are guilty of multiple words when a few will do.

Interesting, how this thread just called: "Hello" went ahead.
At first I felt like ignoring it.
I admire people speak several languages. I communicate in German, English and a little in Arabic.
Of course I could order food and drinks in French and Spanish.:reallymad:

That was my thought too though I didn't want to be rude.

Also part of that intro sounds like "hello, I'm a troll".
