    A couple of observations.

Post "Points" I believe are not given for posts in introductions or the Barracks but I might be wrong.

Religion and Politics are banned subjects as stated in the forum rules because they cause problems even at your friends BBQ. Most of us slip in a couple of sentences in a post now and again however in the main they are not acceptable.

Re-enacting is Military however the glorification of the horrific deeds of some groups is not tolerated and jumped on as seen in this thread. The phrases "Heil to the SS" and "educating children to the bad and the good of the SS" was promptly spotted and dealt with.

These flamers are given enough rope then tied off. Anyway, what we see now are pussies compared to years ago. Most of them have enough brains not to join.

I have been on this forum since 2005 and have lost it a couple of times when something hit a raw nerve. (or maybe a couple more if you count the Eastern Front and Japanese threads and American haters);)

I am proud of those who died and those that survived so we are free to express an opinion.

The mods do a good job for no pay and we have a great resource for no cost.

    Hear, hear ...

Do not forget, it was them, in the first place, who discovered the true nature of the new member. We all did the rest ... good example of the self-cleaning capacity of this site.

So, good job, to you all, and thumbs up!

Looks like SSGen. Pearce is having the last laugh if you ask me. All this bitching and moaning about a someone who obviously has a job vacancy going for a brain cell.

What I find incredible is this thread has attreacted 83 (84 now) posts and there are some excellent threads actually on WW2, pieces of infomation researched/found/transcribed (and having tried that myself it takes hours of work) and or posted my some members and they hardly get a mention or even a well done for there efforts.

I do think some peoples priorities and resons for being on here are wrong sometimes.

The fact that you have more postings than I is the fact that I do not make a practice of welcoming every newcomer to the forum - as many do to gain points
    Cheers

    You are wrong there Tom.
Posts in User Intro section DO NOT go towards Post Count for exactly that reason.
Posts in the Barracks also DO NOT go towards a members post count.

Clive's post count is legit & ON TOPIC, in fact he travels around many cemeteries taking pictures of war graves & posting them on here for others , including realtives to see.
    He's busy 'Remembering'.

    edit:
I see spidge already explained that...no not wrong, spot on.

They say it's an ill wind that blows nobody any good.

The one advantage of having would-be members such as Poor Old Spike & ssGen.Pearce is that, by comparison, we other poor souls, particularly the veterans, come across as pretty normal :)
