(Brit. & Comm.)There was a specific Command conversion of the stripped out M14 produced and issued for D-Day+. This had a large map table, provision for radios and a black-out canopy so interior lights could be used. Unfortunately the M14 had no rear door so access was over the sides (there was an instruction for workshops on how to fit a rear door in M14s however seems rarely done. Later vehicles in HQs are usually M5 or M9 with improvised raised sides and 'hard tops' as in your photo.

Found this one in mom's attic. I think that date must have been added by my dad.

The Germans must have captured an M2. :) I'm sure I would have been expelled from school for several reasons if this was drawn today.

That looks like the 'armoured cars/tanks' in the movie 'A Walk In The Sun'. One of my all time favourite war movies, it was made in California in 1946 so all the German kit was either 1st WW or studio mock-ups. The 'armoured cars' were M2 Half Tracks with added turrets. It is likely they were used for other movies/tv too. Unfortunately the title is not in the movie vehicles database.

Maybe that is were I saw it. Might also have been a 'Combat!' episode. They slapped German markings on a lot of US vehicles. I definitely didn't know the difference back then.

Kelly's Heroes made a fair effort on M3 halftracks and the T34 Tigers
