    Hi All,

Looking for any info on the above mentioned Gunner from his service in the Royal Artillery in Burma. He is a probable survivor from Chindt 2. His Burma Star Association membership does not give any further clue as to which Chindt unit he might have been attached to.

    Many thanks.

can you please let me know how I can access the Royal Artillery tracer cards? Are they on line?

Update, I have found them on Ancestry and had a quick shufti. They do not seem to be complete as I could not find a Gunner called Cardorna De Felice 955275 who is known to have served in Burma.

Thanks TD. I basically have his service record now, but as usual with possible Chindits the period for Operation Thursday is blank either side of a X list break in attachment.

Maybe with his death certificate you could obtain his service record which may show the details that could answer your question

England & Wales, Civil Registration Death Index, 1916-2007

    Death Age: 57
    Birth Date: 17 Mar 1917

    Registration Quarter: Oct-Nov-Dec
    Registration District: St Pancras

You may already have this information along with his details from the 1939 Registry database - if you havent then please contact me

I have some letters that he wrote home so I know that he served with 347 Battery, 136 Field Regiment, 7th (Indian) Division. I had hoped that him having such a distinctive name, his tracer card would be easy to find.

I have also searched for many of the Gunners who served with the 1st Battalion, King's Regiment but have had no luck. I don't currently have an Ancestry subscription as I am using FMP. However, I saw that there were two tracer cards for Clifford Nuttall, but searching by the number that I have,1791299, no matches were found.
