Read this last night in ''Something About A Soldier'' by Christopher Bulteel MC page 89 regarding the Horseshoe action. Michael Mitchell had his leg blown off. (He was rescued , still alive, the next day; and by the following June , was back in England and fit enough to be in the Guards Chapel when it was hit and destroyed by a doodlebug. So died a good, unfortunate friend.) Casualty Details
