    80th D-Day celebrations are in preparation! I'm looking for information on the 2e Bn Essex Regiment in Cormeilles (Eure department) in August 1944. Thanks in advance.

    Welcome aboard.

    When you search for the village Cormeilles in the simple search box several threads appear; some are clearly Luftwaffe related.

    There are two obvious threads for you:
    1) 2nd Essex, 56th Inf Brigade, 50th Divn
    2) War Diary: 71st (Royal Welch) Anti-Tank Regiment Though I could see the name!
    3) Some photos on this pg. IWM AFPU Portrait photographs

    If you click on the tag 2 Essex there are just under twenty threads and on a glimpse only a few cover August 1944.

    Some other tips en route next.
