    As you can plainly see.

No one is wearing any uniform that could have been confused with the Greek Police.

    Hope this helps

    Gus,

I was only "passing by" and minus any expertise in Greece, so relied upon what the article stated:
Any civil war, including the period before is not simple. I shall "move along" with my thanks to you. The photos are good, even if the paras appear to not carry any weapons.

    Hi

Good spot about the Paras not having weapons. They were sent there that day just to maintain law and order (riot control).

I have sent you the official report

Operations of British troops in the insurrection 1944 Dec.-1945 Jan. (CAB 106/461)

I hope you find it informative.

Thanks to David Ryan's post elsewhere.

The regimental history of the 12th Frontier Force Regiment refers to units serving in Greece, with one battalion being on the islands of Rhodes, Leros, Cos and Rodi between August 1945 to September 1946.See: The Frontier Force Regiment : Condon : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive

I assume these were garrison units and not engaged in the civil war itself. From my limited reading the 4th Indian Division were there, but I have not delved into their activities.
