My great uncle Pte was tragically killed in Normandy as part of the 7th Black Watch.

Pte Douglas Robinson's name is on the local war memorial here Wiltshire, UK, as well as in Edinburgh Castle, Scotland. I look forward to seeing/reading any info or images you may have. I've read a few Op Totalize books and maps. Are there many pictures of the battle at Garcelles, or of the 7th Black Watch in Normandy? Trying to visualise it. Thanks. Would love to go back to Normandy again but it's just finding the time and money. Next time I go, I want to go to Garcelles to the wooded area where he was killed. I have also tried to track his medals down, but no joy. So far, I have read No Holding Back, and have the book Tank By Ken Tout on order. There's also the Operation Totalize Battlefield Tour book which I intend to buy. Would be grateful if you have any research, relics or photos to share. Would be wonderful seeing as it's the 80th anniversary year of his death. I have applied for his Service Record. I plan eventually to request further research from the Black Watch Museum in Perth once I find out what Company he was part of. I was sent images of a War Diary from the Garcelles Attack, but the images were all jumbled and not in chronological order, so it was hard to make head or tail of it. If anyone has the War Diary copy in a better format, along with casualty record to try and see what happened that would be insightful. Thanks.

Good Afternoon. Yes I do. I bought that one a while ago, but couldn't see an imagine of him in the book and didn't get much from that book.
