Anybody got any idea what "Granted WSP" means? Has anybody seen this on another service record? It's on the 4th line of my great-uncle's service record.

It's been suggested that it might have been an additional allowance for something.

    Many thanks!

    Ahhh.... as in:

"Granted War Proficiency Pay (ie he had completed training)."

That would kind of make sense although I thought that was referred to as war-time proficiency pay (WTPP). If it was awarded after training, he was training for a long time - he enlisted almost a year beforehand!

Is it not "War Service Pay"?

War proficiency pay - often referred to as military proficiency pay did not kick in at the end of training but after one years service - in 1940/41 it was a magnificent extra 3d a day

That makes more sense. Brilliant. Thanks.
