How often is Google Earth updated? I just looked at the old family home on GE and it still shows a large ash tree in the garden that was cut down more than 6 years ago.

Judging by this site, not very often.

Although if you check now, its vanished.

I built a garage at the bottom of my garden about 4-5 years ago and it's still not shown on Google Earth yet, so i'm assuming they don't update it...unless you pay for the advanced GE.

In Google Earth and goto Historical Imagery under View it brings up a slide bar at the top of the page which also shows the date (roughly) when the image was taken.

Not sure about GE but Google Maps have updated the imagery around my house twice since 2007 but I live in a large US metro area so....

I've just been looking at Biggin Hill Airport on Google Earth. It appears to be taken during an airshow and if you look carefully you can see the Red Arrows jets on the runway!

#9 Red Arrow is still flying, but on a strange flight path
North end of the runway, at the photo "final approach" go ESE 360m to the hedge line.
Red 9 is over the hedge line & heading East

Oh yes..i never noticed that before...i think he may be lost!!!
I also notice, towards the south end of the runway there is a Lancaster Bomber, B17 and a row of spits. According to a few of the photo's on there it was taken last year at the air tattoo.
