Nice images Phil......Dunno how I missed these The guns look like they were lifted from a destroyer. Was there much of a military presence when you was there? Regards Andy
Not really a presence as such, but only had a few hours free time, so didnt get to do much. i believe that the old tunnels under the rock are interesting, but didnt get the chance to Go before flight. P
Cheers, My old regiment went there for a exercise in 1999 they did a amphib landing somewhere and then went on to patrol along the high street on monday morning while all the locals were going to work. A mate told me it swas a bit weird grabbing a knee outside Marks and Spencers as they were opening for buisness.
A lot of the military areas's are under the rock, so there isnt much to see, as it's all under ground, bumped into a few RE's when stopped to ask for directions to North Front Cemetery, and guess what, they had never heard of it. The cemetery was also the worst kept CWGC i have ever seen, again a big surprise.

Great Photos but were the hell did you manage to Park. I was there a couple of months ago and drove around for two hours looking for some where to Park. Finished up in Morrisons and bought 400 at £1.35 for 20.Then went back to Spain.
We stayed overnight, but didnt get there till late, so just parked in a public Carpark near the hotel.
