On 28-06-2021 the remains of a German soldier were found near the landing area of the American 101st Airborne Division.

He was buried at the bottom of a fox hole, no equipment was found. What was recovered is half of an identity disk and lots of small arm ammunition.

The remains have been transferred to the BIDKL-laboratory at the Dumoulinkazerne, Soesterberg.

Research will be performed at the Bundesarchiv, Berlijn to see if a missing soldier can be linked to the dog-tag.

In due time the remains will be reinterred in the German cemetery at Ysselstein.
