temptage I thought it would only take a few weeks......

Ive just found a burial record in Cleethorpes Cemetery for

George Hendry, Ship's Officer. Died 24/05/1940 in Aberdeen. Aged 50

He was born and living in Grimsby at the time of his death, so I'm guessing he was working on the Navy or Merchant Navy ships at the time. There were many fishing vessels from Grimsby and Aberdeen but I'm not aware of them having a Ship's Officer.

Because he died in Aberdeen, I am unable to see his death certificate, unless I sell a kidney first (£3 for English DC, £12 for a Scottish one)

Can anybody find anything out about George. I can only see very few references to him, mainly about his service in WW1, on Ancestry.
