The record below, found on FindMyPast, shows he was originally a member of the 5th Sussex Suffolk Regiment, and at the time of his death due to Spontaneous Pneumoniam was a member of the Royal Artillery.

Further information can be found by applying for his service records from the MOD, information on how to do that can be found here: Get a copy of military service records, including the cost.

Hello it Luke Sowieralski again I’m curious how do you get spontaneous pneumonia? What could you get it from during or at war?

Luke, To answer your question directly the cost of obtaining his official service record (post #2 above) is £30, as he died in service you do not need a death certificate, just print off the certificate from the CWGC. Unfortunately a very long wait at present. If you were interested in tracing the whole of his service the next step, after his records, would be war diaries based on the particular units that he served with at the appropriate time.

His service number, 5826156, shows that he enlisted with the Suffolk Regiment (not Sussex Regiment as post #2)

A photo of his grave can be obtained here:

Apologies for that, but my brain, since a youngster and while living in England, has perpetually transposed the two Counties. I shall endeavour to do better.
