Were all the Airborne Operations carried out on the night of 5/6 June? Did any Para/Glider reinforcement drops /air resupply take place after the landings on the 6th?
About 250 gliders of 6th Airlanding Brigade brought reinforcements into the Orne bridgehead in the late afternoon of June 6.
During June 6th, gliders brought in support troops and anti-tank guns to the 82nd and 101st Airborne. On June 7th, the 325th Glider Infantry of the 82nd came in by glider. (The 101st's glider infantry regiment landed on Utah Beach.)
Hi redtop, On the British side besides Operation Mallard there were a series of resupply missions by air beginning on D-Day known as "Rob Roy". You can see the resupply at the beginning of the following ParaData clip : http://www.paradata.org.uk/media/852?mediaSection=videos&mediaItem=2944 Regards ...
Thanks all,I came across a report of parachute drops and gliders during the day ,thought it was a mistake. that clears it up.
