An unhighjacked thread is a thread unworthy of being.

At the time the Championship series was begun, baseball was only played in the US. So, if the only teams playing the game participate in the series, then it did involve the best teams in the world...I suppose y'all could cobble together a team, call it maybe the Leicester Bandy-legs, the Lyon Haughty-waiters or the Munich Goose-steppers and join in the fun...

Nope it's Kickball.........only played by little girls, metro sexuals and the offspring of generation "X" matings.

Ranking only slightly lower than Golf and Basketball
 Ah the aul colonial ranting over football/soccer. See where American Football ranks in terms of popularity outside the Americas compared to "kickball". You guys just havent copped on yet. :p (BTW, I'm a Raiders fan since 83, no problem with Gridiron, but it cant compare to a good soccer match!!)

Raiders went to Sh*t when Madden left..............I haven't watched foot ball for years.

I don't watch any sports that are governed by a clock.

We let Canada in : Expo's and Blue Jays

The world Series began when the US still had an Isolationist Foreign Policy.

You should Google "World Baseball Classic" there are quite a few teams from other nations.
Yes, but didn't Montreal move to DC a couple of years ago?

Usually here in the states, the news covers some of the soccer matches in Europe, but it only highlights the riots and rampaging in the stands. I guess that is the only part that is understandable to Americans. There was even a continual running skit on "Saturday Night Live" titled "Scottish Hooligan Soccer Fans." It was extremely funny.

Apparently American Football is pretty popular outside of the US. Look at the game they had in London and the one they had in Mexico. They're even thinking of having a 2nd Regular Season game outside of the US, and even the Superbowl!

I think that the NFL is using the European and other teams, along with Arena Football as a farm club system. I think the NFL should develope a true farm club system like baseball does, and that way the NCAA will less interference with college football. And if that model works out, alternate leagues for the governing of such Olympic venue hopefuls like the classic backgammon, the up and coming frontgammon, and the inevitable rise of sidegammon can finally get their due, and lucurative TV time with the big networks for a change....
