My father joined th 51 HAA in 1941 , then the 84 HAA RA until October 1944 when he joined the Essex Regiment. He served in Tunisia, Sicily , Italy and ended up in Africa. My mother says he parachuted into Sicily . He told me he parachuted into Crete , bombed an airfield and was taken off by submarine but didn't mention the war much when he was alive. The facts don't seem to add up. Can anyboidy help?
