All your posts are editable by yourself.

I hope the records confirm all preconceptions, but they rarely seem to.

Sorry to butt in here, but I just have to. Teresa, I came here as you did, looking for information of any kind about my father's service and found everyone here nothing but kind and most helpful.

I had some ideas, and Tom Canning and a few others pointed out to me that some of them were wrong. I said "Thank you", and didn't throw a tantrum and spew insults like a thwarted child.

Nothing Mr. Canning said to you was untoward in the least. Your nastiness to him is outrageous and uncalled for and you owe him an apology.

As for wanting to leave this forum: Very simple. Delete your photos and just stop posting.

    Well said Doreen.
I have followed this thread and chose not to post, suspecting that this conclusion might arise. For a reputedly well educated person 'teresa' has demonstrated little acceptance of advice from better qualified members and a poor grasp of the English language.
Not a great loss to this forum I think.
If she truly seeks information on her relative's service she has probably lost the greatest online rescource, this forum. Such a shame, but the world is made up of many different people.

Tom and I have had our moments, but rude to you, Teresa, he certainly was not.

If anything, he was far more understanding than he should have been.

Regarding the little red dot under your post count - I'll take credit for that.

If I wasn't so entertained this thread would be closed.

Take no offence, Teresa. We all love to help, in one way or another.
Hope the records clear things up for you, which is obviously very important to you.

For Gage Thanks some people on here have been helpful and have left the relevant thankyou but i think i need to find support elsewhere i have had so many childish things sent to me by this mans comrades that it hinders progress in finding results the two men that did help me too me forward and with the help of the MOD who hold my dads records and found them and told me he was in the general service corps and ARJL and pulled into the 8th army then went onto Anzio where he was was caught in bomb blast. So thanks to those two men and the one who made me laugh and your kind support but i think its best i move on. And yes my dad was very important to me. Thanks kind regards teresa

For Gage also to explain why i was so defensive this man did seem to come in in a way i did n ot appreciate. He talked of legends and hollywood which i could not see any relevance to my father who did not like any attention whatsover. I can see after talking to the MOD that he definately was in the 8th army under the general service corps they explained how the 8th pulled all these different parts of the armies into the 8th i know he went to the dessert then i know he went to Anzio i dont know who or what he was under in that transfer to Anzio i agree, but as an outsider of the army he should have been more considerate about working this out not just spout off in the way he did. With the help of the other two men i have left thankyou's for they did help and when you can intereact on that level you get somewhere not with someone jumping in with their own intepretation. And spouting off he had doubts you just dont do that especially to an outsider of the army and about another persons history its just not done.

So you actually have the MOD records in hand?

For Gage from the little bit of research i have been doing about the General Service Corps they seem to be specialists in lots of different areas and are kind of a holding system in the army so it makes sense to me that at one point my dad was called into the 8th and then into the anzio battle under whom i dont know but they are a holding unit ready it seems to me to be called anywhere, because of their specialist skillsi notice even the SAS under them So in the war i imagine all the time stratedgies were constantly changing and that is totally understanable in the situations they were in. This is just something that i think after researching them.

Patience Teresa, you will get there in the end.

Get the records you need and then let us know his war. Believe it or not we are interested.

No, she called MoD and they are sending her the application package, but while on the phone they confirmed some details for her.

    Teresa-
Is that some sort of an apology?
