Unfortunately, the image limits on the site prevent posting readable WD pages.

    For the 7th November:

    7th November 1944
Lieutenant-Colonel Odlin-Smee took on command of battalion from Major ACJ Van Ammel DSO MC.
Heavy shelling and mortaring of battalion area throughout day.
1900 Patrol to Cassetta Di Sotto. One officer, two ORs. One OR killed, One officer, one OR wounded.
2330 Gulley House set on fire by enemy tracer. Continued to be held. Fire eventually died out.

The wounded could have been your father, yes. He may have also been wounded in the shelling but looking at the rest of the WD they tended to mention the casualties.

    Frank,

He took over from the 2 i/c, Major A.C.J. Van Ammel DSO MC. He took over from the previous CO, Lt. Col. Tuff on 26th October 1944. Van Ammel had only become 2 i/c on 14th October (previously a company commander).

    Regards,
    Gary.
