They were odds on to win (2/5), so maybe just a banana flavoured Toffo (if they still make them), rather than a full banana. Moldova's song was the most entertaining and the public rightly gave them a load of votes. Norway were trying too hard to be "funny" and their banana/wolf effort was cringeworthy.
I'm not a fan,its an awful tawdry exercise that should have been exterminated long ago, only the political aspect of the Ukraine made it slightly palatable.
Our oldest son aged 40 living in Manchester went, as did many of his age group round here, to a Eurovision Party. His brother aged 35 spent the evening in the extension yelling at the screen then coming in to have a moan. Mother dear, sat flicking through the channels between dozing off and I had the earliest night ever after watching a tiny bit of Jules Holland (past his best) and Neil Oliver talking about the early Vikings which I've seen too many times. For once I slept all night only woken by the dog at 0745 this morning.
It's been an annual thing for a few years now. Bit of a giggle. My mate is useless at geography. He asked , "Is Armenia where you get those posh suits from ?" "No, that's Giorgio Armani."
Lyric from the Serbia entry: "What could be the secret of Meghan Markle‘s healthy hair? What could it be? I think it‘s all about the deep hydration They say our skin and hair show it all For example – Deep under-eye circles could signal liver troubles The pesky spots around the lips point to an enlarged spleen That‘s not a good spleen, not a very pretty spleen And the artist ought to be healthy: To be healthy, to be healthy, to be healthy, To be, to be, to be To be healthy, to be healthy, to be healthy, To be, to be, to be How lucky, the existence of the autonomic nervous system No need to control the heart beats The heart beats The heart beats, alone" As for Banana Toffos, sad news: "Assorted Toffo - individually wrapped fruit flavour toffees in tube. Pineapple flavour, banana strawberry and apple toffee. Sorry but Toffo are no longer in production." Never had one, now it's too late. But as for the future, advice from Estonia: "I said, “Hey sing your heart out boy For all the people great and small Oh, when all else is lost The future still remains our own” I hope, I hope, I hope I hope, I hope I hope, I hope, I hope I hope, I hope."
It's that time of year when the BBC's Moscow correspondent Steve Rosenberg plays Eurovision tunes on the piano. https://twitter.com/BBCSteveR/status/1656190516701143040
Planning on going to see Lord of the Lost on one of their UK dates. Coming last in Eurovision is no bad thing. Been singing Blood & Glitter all week.
Went to the ABBA Museum today. Saw the original 1974 Waterloo costumes amongst many other things. Agnetha's blue satin trousers have turned purple with age. That type of satin does that so a notice said.
Hopefully you’ll get to visit the nearby Vasa Museum as well Owen. It’s very good. I went to see the Vasa while my wife went to visit the ABBA Museum when we were last in Stockholm visiting her elderly aunt and her cousins. Steve
Was going to do the Vasa today but as the weather was so lovely we wanted to stay outside. We went to Skansen open air museum. Vasa tomorrow.
