Next to the Rolos that are now the size of pinheads Steve, and if following the Rolo (and other chocolate confectionery trend) likely now too small to be seen!

Kind regards, everything shrinks with age, including chocolate products now, always,

    Jim.

    EDIT 08:31 13/12/25:

And as if by magic the dear beeb!

Why your chocolate is getting smaller, more expensive and less chocolatey

    Or like this :)

    Not everything Jim.

Unfortunately this does not apply to ears, waistline or prostate!

Kind regards, keep taking the tablets, everyday.

The tablets (or the chemo, or combination of both) have made mine shrink Steve!

    Prostrate that is :)

Kind regards, and "keep taking the tablets", definitely, yes, always,

    Jim.

P.S. Vincent didn't suffer the ear growth problem half as much :)

And as an apology from digressing from the thread's primary subject matter, back to it.

The halfway house stepping stone; as touched on in previous posts.

Daughter No.1 profoundly happy with the purchase choice made. Still being pleasently surprised by fuel consumption (and lack of!).

Still finding the sound (lack of!) when running all electric takes some getting used to.

This was one of the YT videos daughter watched prior to test drive and subsequent purchase.

In the here and now the best choice for her, and her choice. A good thing in itself.

Kind regards, "is it on? Yes dad, it's on :)", always,

    Jim.

I'm glad she is happy with her new car. Have you been allowed to take it for a spin?

Only had our EV 5 weeks, but have decided we never want to go back to a noisy diesel/petrol/LPG car.

Most of our journeys these days are fairly local; longest round trip so far about 190miles (at 4.1m/kWh) so have yet to need to use a public charger. But will be heading up to Liverpool over the Christmas hols (~250 miles) so let's see how that pans out.

I put the car into Sport mode for the first time a few days ago, pressed down on the accelerator, & accidentally swallowed all my fillings!

No car needs to accelerate that fast ...it should be illegal!

Sue got me a pack as a surprise a while back as I’d mentioned how I used to really like them. I did also mention that I liked Ferraris, but I’m still waiting on that one.

Certainly smaller the Rolos and, is it me, or do they now taste bleah?

4-pack. Still three in it, one was enough!

Feel for today’s kids, they’re really missing out on the sweets front. On the smaller theme, see also Curly Wurly - what a piss take that is. Kids, you bin robbed!

Gorn off topic again, sorry…Topic, that got smaller too and it wasn’t all that to begin with! :D

I guess if you do still want throaty engine noise, the sound effects can be downloaded onto your kompooter?

Hello Steve; I have not driven the Yaris Cross as I have long since stopped driving, and the riding of motorcycles too.

I reached a point where, like my dear late dad, I didn't want to do either anymore. March of time and all that, and heaven only knows how either would have been while catheterised and bagged up (I have visions of flooded footwell in car and over lubricated gear change on bike, with a burst bag thrown in to boot :) ). Cue ribaldry along the lines of "'Ere Jim, I think you've got a puncture".

And I must say I have thoroughly enjoyed being a passenger when visiting Daughter No.1, a super experience. Vehicles have come a long way since Morris Minors, Minis, A40s and Beetles, and are I think all the better for it for the younger generations.

And I concur on the EV and full hybrid "electric" acceleration front (still pedestrian though compared with most motorbikes on the road now :) )

Kind regards, can you get puncture repair kits for day bags as I'm getting told off for using the gaffer tape, always,

    Jim.

    Martin!

You've hit the nail on the head in posting up the picture of your Rolo pack.

Small print bottom left hand corner of packaging, "Nestle Cocoa Plan".

Their plan is not to use any! That's why they don't taste the same anymore; they must now be in the "can't call it chocolate" category.

Kind regards, don't even think of offering me your last Rolo, always,

    Jim.

The underground has of course been electric for years. No better cure for post-gig munchies than a Nestlé Crunch bar from an old-fashioned vending machine.

In Tokyo they have vending machines that sell booze. They're located on the street with nobody watching them. The kids don't buy from them, just not done. Or so I was told.

The Fred Astaire version is very good ( the first verse is sung later in his rendition ) : a song that refers to Model T Ford cars and a confection called a Hershey bar is appropriate.

    Louis Armstrong version:

They All Laughed Lyrics by Louis Armstrong

The odds were a hundred to one against me
The world thought the heights were too high to climb
But people from Missouri never incensed me
    Oh, I wasn't a bit concerned
For from hist'ry I had learned
How many, many times the worm had turned

They all laughed at Christopher Columbus
When he said the world was round
They all laughed when Edison recorded sound
They all laughed at Wilbur and his brother
When they said that man could fly

    They told Marconi
    Wireless was a phony
    It's the same old cry
They laughed at me wanting you
Said I was reaching for the moon
    But oh, you came through
Now they'll have to change their tune

They all said we never could be happy
They laughed at us and how!
    But ho, ho, ho!
Who's got the last laugh now?

They all laughed at Rockefeller Center
Now they're fighting to get in
They all laughed at Whitney and his cotton gin
They all laughed Fulton and his steamboat
    Hershey and his chocolate bar

    Ford and his Lizzie
    Kept the laughers busy
    That's how people are
They laughed at me wanting you
Said it would be, "Hello, Goodbye."
    But oh, you came through
    Now they're eating humble pie

They all said we'd never get together
    Darling, let's take a bow
    For ho, ho, ho!
    Who's got the last laugh?
    Hee, hee, hee!
    Let's at the past laugh
    Ha, ha, ha!
Who's got the last laugh now?

The Teslas were given a pretty big handicap by the Christmas Tree (Starting lights) and they still beat the muscle cars most of the time.
