Does This Sherman Tank Photo Seem Odd to You?

    Does this Sherman tank photo seem odd to you? Any idea where and when it was taken? There is nothing written on the backside.

    Is it a 105mm? I'm no expert though. Do you notice something?

    There seems to be a slight lack of roadwheels which begs the question 'how did it get there?' And why is the track still on?

    It is in a better state than some of the 1 DB tanks! Even Allied Units were salvaging road wheels from wrecks so I presumes the wheels (bar the one snagged behind the sprocket) were removed and this wreck then shunted sideways off the road and that is why there is a build-up of earth on the side facing the camera.

    Many She man's were in use by the Russians and those standing on and around do not look Germany.
    Could be a beute Russian Sherman ( Captured by Germans ) and then recaptured or put out of action by the Russians.
