Deacs Well i am from Cumbria.

Hi folks does anybody have any great images of Juno Beach D-Day has Natalie and i are doing another history project.
This time it is going to be based on WW2 and D-Day and has granda landed on Juno we would like to base our project on that.
I have watched the videos on Juno but i haven't been able to get any really good still pictures to get an idea of what Juno was like when granda landed so if anyone has any links they would like to share we would be ever so gratefull cheers.

    Regards Natalie and Michael.

Should have added granda was with the 80 Assault Sqaudron RE and they landed on NAN White or NAN Red between Bernieres-Sur-Mer and Saint-Aubin-Sur-Mer.
I have to admit when researching granda and the 80 Assault it has always been a bit difficult in my opinion that is to try and find the Assault Sqaudron's. I always find alot about the Canadians but unfortunately in my quest not alot on the Royal Engineers (Please make me wrong).

    Michael.

I came across the one from WW2 Peoples war and was gutted that you can't get intouch with the chaps who wrote them a complete shame.
The audio doesn't work on the radio one or is it me being thick as usuall.

    Michael.

The "People's War" project only allowed for the details of the contributors to be retained for a couple of years. The 'contibutors' were not necessarily the people who featured in the articles, but someone else who posted the story on their behalf (I did this on behalf of a number of veterans including many who took part in the Normandy Landings).

With the march of time, many of those whose wartime experiences are featured in the BBC "People's War" project have since passed on. But don't despair, there are plenty of records to choose from for a school project. Just go with what you find.

Thanks. I was in Courselles last week. I only managed the touristy photos this time: the DD Sherman, damaged gun etc. You're welcome to have them but I doubt they are what you are after.

Thanks for the offer Keith but it is the before pictures that i would really like to see, to see what it was like then when granda was coming off the Landing Craft and onto the beach and what the defences of the Germans was so i can make our model near to what it i can

    Regards Michael.
