    Interesting Andy, not least because it clearly confirms that 1 Corps were likely to be left behind (although in the end of course, they weren't). This rather gives the lie I feel to those who argue that Gort deliberately sacrificed his territorial battalions and of course the continuing controversy over 51st Division.

    Agree, I've just read it myself.

    Couple of points I found interesting was the mention of a Naval Officer suggesting the construction of a pier made from vehicles. I would think he had seen one somewhere else as I understand it, it was a Lt. in the Military Police who had the original idea.

    First mention I've seen of Barker being replaced by Alexander. Quite a diplomatic mention too.

    My books suggest he embarked on the Duchess of Fife or Medway Queen.
