I am totally new to all this!
I have service papers and can work out what some of it means, but I am intrigued by "to be specially employed" in 1944. He did have a knowledge of the Swedish language and had worked in the Baltic pre war (not sure if that's relevant or not!)
I would be grateful for any help with deciphering the attached or any help in pointing me in the right direction as to where I might find out more about his "special employment"

    Thank you

To say that this record of service is very odd - would be an understatement - but the bulk of this appears to me that despite his knowledge of the Swedish language - he was variously employed sorting out the civil affairs of the residents

of Italian towns and villages which were in turmoil on being "liberated " - without remuneration initially - but on bitching enough - remunerated finally.....you could try the war diaries of the many units he served which might give more clues

as to what exactly he was up to as he did a fair amount of travel in his time...

    Cheers
