Hey guys, I'm just wondering if there is anyone out there who is a WWII vet that fought in Normandy on D-Day? I would like to learn more about this battle and an info would be great. Thanks.:)

My dad was a D-Day veteran from 77 Squadron, 5 Assault Regiment Royal Engineers. He was an AVRE gunner on the day but he died a few years ago - I did speak to him a lot about it latterly and did find an old mate he'd fought with who was more forthcoming. There are some very good books if you want an overview of the whole day, which I'm sure lots of people on here can recommend but if you're looking to speak to an actual vet, I'll get me coat. Good luck
