Data and info on KMS Convoys from US Sources dated 27 Aug 1943 Source: Page 57 WWII European Theater Army Records - Fold3
Many thanks for posting. Does anyone know if it is possible to get details of which ships sailed from which of the ports noted for KMF04 in the main post attachments above. I recall my father saying they loaded their lorries (11th LAA Platoon RASC) at Salford Docks but that he actually sailed from Greenock.
Hi Temujin I'm aware of that site but it only states 'Clyde' as the place of sailing. The US documents imply it was assembled from ships that were loaded elsewhere ie 'Mersey Area' would, possibly include ships originating from the Manchester Ship Canal.
I’m looking for you…….I did find the sailing information of the USS Samuel Chase, here’s what that ship indicated when they sailed with the convoy……and I’m still looking As you can see this was the “A” Section of the Convoy, so I’ll looking for the other sections (if I can find them)
A little more information, both from the USS Samuel Chase and Admiralty War Diaries, they don’t help much, but since I screen shot the info, thought I would pass it along anyway
