Hi.could someone point me in the right direction?I would like to get my late fathers ww2 records and from what i can see from reading some posts there seems to be 2 types of form, the form mentioned on the uk/gov site which I have downloaded and the army kinship forms which I printed off a few months ago. which forms would be best and is it advisable to send a cover note asking for the full records? regards Steve
Steve - not an expert but have applied for two lots - one next of kin anyway and the other got my mother in law to sign form from the uk gov veterans website. I didn't send a note but got full records - some people advise a note anyway so it can't harm. Do a search and you'll find full advice in several places on the forum - good luck. Note, Glasgow has most army records but not all - Guards have their own for example, so again, do a serach and give unit/service no. on here and you might find some material.
