How comes my post count has rocketed by about 200 ?

I know I've been on here all day but surely I've not posted that much drivle

Barracks posts no longer count for post count.
Dithered over this for years, but this is theoretically a WW2 forum :wink:.

I see my own post count has dropped from about 2400 to 1989

Us "oldies" notice things like that

Next time I post something under the "Barracks" heading I will have to start the posting with
"Nothing to do with WW2 but......." and see if it gets me a count increase

Just tried it, Adam's fixed it alright, anything posted under the Barracks heading is NOT added to your posting count.

I wandered over to the Barracks to have a look at the postings that no longer are counted towards a "thread posting total" and one of the first threads I spotted was this one.

I can see Adam's dilemma and I'm sure that technically he is correct.

I can also see that in hindsight I might have chosen another heading under which to place my original posting.

I think that the jury might still be out on this one

Obviously we don't have enough Stalinists on the Mod body, as quantity has a quality of it's own.

All I'm concerned with is that we have here a magnificent group of people with whom I can speak the same language and I don't mean my feeble attempt at pidgin, now if that means I have a count of 2 or 20 000 is completely irrelevant, at least to me

Just had one of these "senior moments" and couldn't remember which forum heading no longer counted towards the total number of postings.

The fact that I eventually found it (under Barracks) does at least demonstrate that the Search facilty, when properly used, still works well but I'm left with one small "niggle".

Do the mods not consider that the fact that postings under "Barracks" no longer count towards a thread posting total is worthy of mentioning in FAQ ?

The fact that I personally lost about 400 points in my total has nothing to do with my query

If your postings are in a form of pidgin english, then your command of this language is better than some of us "Brits".

Sorry to knock you out of the top 10. Posting about 400 headstone photos over the course of a week should not be the way to do it. That's the reason why you disappeared from sight.
