Naveen Chand Rawlley was a Captain at the time of the Defence of Kohima where he won a MC. He was in 9/12 FFR at the time but returning to the Imphal front after a period of leave, via Dimapur and Kohima. He went on to have a distinguished career in the post-war Indian Army. He is mentioned in most of the books on Kohima based on some conversations or a manuscript he had with early authors such as CE Lucas-Phillips. Does anyone have a copy of his recollections, know where they are held or know of any books on him or 9/12 Frontier Force Regiment?
The IWM has two interviews: Alas there is a notice: Link: BURMA, THE FORGOTTEN WAR: INTERVIEW MATERIAL [Allocated Title] Could the BBC have released the documentary to NAM etc or is it on YouTube? It is advertised as available in Belgium: DVDInfo.be - Besprekingen and Burma - The Forgotten War (1995) | documentary | videospace
Many thanks for finding this. Despite trying a search this didn't come up! I think what I am looking for is more likely to be in the transcript than the subsequent video. I wonder what is behind the 'media not currently available' message? I have come across it on a couple of others I am interested in accessing. Dawson, Dennis (Oral history) | Imperial War Museums (iwm.org.uk) Let's see what an email brings...... Again thanks.
