Diane. Have you any knowledge of Capt Donald Gibson Irish Guards. He was Mortar Officer to one of the Foot Guards Battalions in 201 Guards Brigade but I cannot work out which one. He was wounded at Camino. Regards Frank
Hi Frank This is the alphabetical roll for IG names which have cropped up in various sources Irish Guards: Roll of Honour - Alphabetical Other Guards regiments, (to date CG has only been dealt with on ad-hoc basis) Grenadier Guards: Roll of Honour - Alphabetical Coldstream Guards: Roll of Honour - Alphabetical Scots Guards: Roll of Honour - Alphabetical Welsh Guards: Roll of Honour - Alphabetical
Frank, I saw that post on the Italy Star Association message board. I can't find any officer called Gibson in any battalion of 201 Guards Brigade or in the Brigade HQ, pre or post Camino. The casualty lists do not record any officer called Gibson being wounded in any Guards battalion in Italy in 1943 or early 1944. Regards, Gary.
