Tim My brother in law's father was a Canloan office assigned to the 51st Highland Division, 1st Battalion. Awarded the MC. Rob, excellent photos. Tom, thanks for adding to Canuck's post. Randy
Aside from the CANLOAN officers in 1st Border, 2nd South Staffs & 7th KOSB, were there any in the Para battalions? Also, are any of the CANLOAN Arnhem veterans still alive?
Paul This document about the Canloan scheme does not give you the information you require, but you might find it useful for reference. http://www.cmp-cpm.forces.gc.ca/dhh-dhp/his/rep-rap/doc/cmhq/cmhq145.pdf Regards - Rob
Hi Paul, That is so spooky, I have just this afternoon read a small account of one such man in the book 'Testaments of Honour' by Blake Heathcote. The man in question Charles Scot-Brown was Canloaned to the Gordon Highlanders in 1943, went in on D-Day, was wounded, joined 1st Para after and was in Operation Market Garden. Book was published in 2002, might be a chance there? Will that do you? Steve.

Scot-Brown was lucky as he managed to swim to safety where he met up with Polish soldiers.
