I am an Italian historian who is reconstructing the story of a British soldier fighting from 1939 to 1945. In Africa he fought with the first Camouflage company and in Italy with 544th coy (Palestinian) E&M Companies. Are there people who had relatives in these companies? Thanks for all the info
I gather you are looking for relatives of soldiers in these units? There is a book by Rick Stroud on the Camouflage Unit titled 'The Phantom Army of Alamein' that was published in 2012. I have a copy but have only browsed through it a few times, however, in the acknowledgements the author mentions interviewing some veterans and relatives. That would be more than ten years ago now though. Might be worth obtaining a copy of the book for your research or contacting the author. They were a pretty specialized unit with a lot of artists and boffins. Scott
