It might indeed be possible....if only they'd be prepared to move that little brown "occasional" table and the curtain! Then it should be possible to get a good look at the Kent and Sussex portion of the map, down at the bottom corner Because it looks to now be right beside the glass?

Still need a really good camera though, and a monopod/tripod...

 

It's more like Sealion porn!!! Will try looking in in a few places - 1. IWM archives 2. There's a forum for the Defence of Britain project - ask there. 3. the LinkedIn British Military History Forum - might get someone with some academic clout like Martin Matrix Evans who would be willing to go there and get the offending items removed for a photo.

The IWM last week issued a YouTube film 'Secrets of WWII | Inside the Map Room where the war was planned', it is 10mins long and has a few odd parts. Having been there pre-COVID, on a private, free visit it does make you feel quite small. Worth a peek:
