Reminds me of the spitfire that was the Gate Guardian at the former RAF Sealand airbase in Flintshire just over the border near where I live, many a time as a kid we passed it going on holiday to North Wales. It was there until 1988 when it was replaced by a Hawker Hunter Transonic Jet. The airbase closed in 2006, the Hunter was taken away and was last spotted for sale on Ebay in 2016 with a 'Buy it Now' price tag of £24,995.
At the site which is now a DECA Repair hub for the F-35 Lightening ll, stands it's predecessor a Tornado GR4 ZA607.
