Hi guys I know the 1942-1945 BSA Airborne Folding Paratroopers Bicycle was used by the infantry on D-Day but does anyone have any photos or evidence of this? I'm pretty sure I saw one on IWM but I can't find it now, of infantry coming ashore (probably second wave) carrying these folding bikes and IIRC in Hart Dykes 'Normandy to Arnhem' he mentions that their folding bikes were run over by a column of Churchills much to the joy of his troops. Can anyone help, thanks Smudge
Smudge, I tried to post a photo of RUR on Sword. They have airborne bikes. My skills were not up to the task. Use search on IWM site. Sword/image/WWII/Normandy brought it up on the first page. Mike
Hi Smudge, The Para Bike gets quite a few mentions in the thread below. You might find a pic or two in there ... Pushbikes - WW2Talk

Smudge, There are several on this page: Canadian landings captured by RCN photographer - Maple Leaf Up Also on the Canadian Archives at the same size. Try this page and beyond: The Highland Light Infantry of Canada - D-Day - Archives Canada You might be after a British unit though ...? Cheers ...
Cheers Cee I found those on the Canadian National Archives but thanks again. I just wanted to prove to somebody that Infantry use of the 'Parabike' was common. I reckon it was Thanks all Smudge
