    Hi All,

Once upon a time my National Archives readers ticket enabled me to visit the British Library. Is this still the case?

I was looking on both sites for the information but could not find it anywhere.

Thanks for reading an idiot's question.:D

I have both, but I dont think this is the case any more. Take relevant ID with you (standard two forms/proof of address etc) and the process only takes twenty minutes to get a new card. I grabbed a student one which is valid for ages, but the standard one is a lot shorter.

When you go you need two forms of ID- one photo, Passport or Driving Licence the second a utility bill or bank statement with address on it, also worth having a card with your signature. Let me know when your going (am there most days in the morning apart from Tuesdays when at TNA Kew)

Remember for those Burma addicts that the BL houses the India Office archive so you will find stuff on the Indian Army in WWII that is missing elsewhere alas the catalogues and ordering for that is still paper based

So true, I need to tidy up a few minor loose ends at the BL and to be honest the Gurkha Museum at Winchester. More discipline is required here.:)

There are some smallish files and letters belonging to Private soldiers from operation Longcloth at the library. I have had them on my lists for ages.
