Does anybody have any information about British/Allied POWs who were used as forced labour in and around the Auschwitz complex.

One camp (arbeit commando) that I know about was situated at Monowitz (Monowice) where 1,200 POWs were used to work in the I G Farben rubber production factory (E715).

There were other, smaller, camps and any information would be very much appreciated.

Thanks for that. Would you be kind enough to give me the source for the above? Do you know what kind of work was undertaken at each camp?

Donald Watt's book "Stoker" will help you with this issue. He stoked the furnaces at Auschwitz-Birkenau. He was an Australian POW. He wrote his memoirs. :(
