Bring Pte John Morris 10th Parachute Regiment to life with me

I managed to get hold of a copy of this in Oosterbeek in the bookshop near the Schoonoord. Lucky me, my great uncle has his photograph in it!

 

Thanks so much, I think there was only John my great uncle, Amy my great aunt and William my grandad. This is brilliant investigative work which I really appreciate. X

 

It is! That's fantastic. I expect a library will have the original. We live near the British Library so I'll call and ask there. How on earth did you find this?

Which of the children of Orlando and Margaret Ann Morris are you descended from please? Is the photo you attached to your first post of your grandad?
I am the grand daughter of Henry Morris born in 1915.
I would be so interested to read the letter and see photos of the keepsakes you found in the dressing table if possible please?

Visit Friends of the Tenth Face Book page.
They are at the moment raising funds to build a memorial to 10 Para in the village of Somerby where 10 Para were billeted prior to Arnhem,they are trying to contact relatives of WW2 10 Para to be at the opening.
I believe there are only two surviving war time members one living in Australia.
