After visiting the Concert House today we stopped and parked the car by the rear side of the Tiergarten close to Potsdammer Platz and walked across the park to the Strasse 17 Juni, which was closed off from near the victory Column to Brandenburg Gate. Every year cyclists converge on Berlin and there is a carnival atmosphere on the street where there are normally 6 lanes of traffic. Lots of stands selling bicycles and bits and pieces plus lots to eat and drink along the way. Here are a few photographs that I took of the event. The first shot shows a view East towards Brandenburger Tor and Alexanderplatz in the distance (TV Tower) The second shows the glass domed roof of the german Parliament building. The third shot is facing West and the Victory Column in ther distance. I couldn't resist taking photographs of the old Fiat Estate car converted to a Coffee dispenser. Regards Tom
