    From reading the history of the site as recorded by local historians. the first Allied unit to take the Obersalzberg site was elements of the French 2nd Armoured Division followed closely by the US 3rd Infantry Division

    As soon as the US 3rd Infantry Division arrived on the Obersalzberg, the French withdrew in accordance with the laid down Allied occupational plan that the area would be within the US Occupational Zone

    Historical Error

    It was in fact Richard the Lionheart and Blondel the Minstrel.

    Not WW2 but can't really let that go, Robin Hood wouldn't approve.

    Richard 111 died at Bosworth Field a few hundred years later and was recently found in a carpark in Leicester.
