Some hardware of the Belgian Army in May, 1940. Carden-Loyd Mk.VI w/47mm Gun ACG-1 T.15 FN Tricar T.13 (unarmed) Artillery Tractor
My father-in-law has kindly loaned his fathers Belgian Army book, and I would like to find out more about his service. His details are: Name: Armand Dua Service No.: 158.15383 Regiment: 2nd Battery, Group II, 8th Regiment Artillery On the 9th of July 1940 his was given a commendation for repairing a telecommunications wire while under heavy enemy fire. That is all the family knows about his service, and it would be really interesting to learn what happened during the rest of the war. Any assistance would be appreciated. Regards Paul
Even though this may fall a bit outside the defense of Belgium itself during the Blitzkrieg, IMO makes fascinating reading: Internet Archive: Details: The Belgian Campaign in Ethiopia By the way, the site is just amazing; excellent tool.
On the site http://j-mc.ifrance.com/kremer/bnmotoscha.html which discusses the history of Le bataillon motos de Chasseur Ardennais there is a small pic of a map showing the movement of Belgian divisions during the 18 day campaign. The map is entitled Armee Belge - Campagne de Mai 1940 (10 au 28 mai) and was produced by A. Bikar I was wondering if anyone knew if this had been placed on the web at a usable size (as has his map for Belgian Army positions at that start of the campaign) and if so where, or whether it was available in any published source.
