Vanderveen mentions that Guy did make a searchlight truck on the PE chassis, but it wasn't 4x4. Chris
In this movietone clip 'BEF Moves Into Belgium' 2.28 minutes an Austin 7 actually moving -fast . All others I've seen are abandoned wrecked. YouTube - 1940 The British and French move into Belgium Craig
The searchlight truck is a Guy PE 4x2, i have only ever seen it in this role and as a early vehicle with around 800 built some would have gone to France. I have a few bits on it and will dig them and post sometime cheers Les
Here are a few more BEF vehicle pictures from the Topfoto site that I haven't seen before , the disabled Matilda in front of the WW1 Diorama museum is interesting.
Two nice shots of the Humber heavy utility Love them Humber Snipe heavy utilities , they were a very high quality expensive car at the time, does anyone know what level of officer you had to be to get one?
photo of the Morris C8 office Ref Post 65: Its amazing how some things never change- Sigs still do that today with a FFR Land Rover and a 9x9 Tent.
Two nice shots of the Humber heavy utility Les Do you have any pictures of the Morris CD 6 wheeler staff car? I have a couple but it does not seem to have appeared very often. Not like the Humber. Andrew

I have not seen that picture with the triangular marking before, although I have seen a picture taken from the other side of the same vehicle. Do you know where I might find the original? For Craig - I believe this IWM picture was taken in France with a broken down vehicle about to be evacuated. My guess is it is with 5 Medium Regt and the 1 Corps formation sign cannot be seen or has not yet been added. http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=52361&stc=1&d=1307473980 Andrew
I'd like to find one of them in a French barn ! I wonder if the 'Ruler of Bhopal' has still got his 2 seater sports version as below !
