What happened to the halftrack where the 88 is now?

This must be one of them before and after shots everyone keeps talking about lol

When I was there, the half-track was over by the harbour wall cause they were resurfacing outside the museum as you can see in the pics, presume it,s still over there, Paul will know.

    Paul,

Great pics, as Owen says, rather gives the urge to get a digi slr. Just returned myself from Normandy, but as I had the missus in tow I didn't get to do too much battlefield touring, just a quick trip to Longues-sur-Mer, Merville Battery, and a brief stop for lunch in Bayeux.

Where did you come across the memorial to th 50th Division?

It's opposite the Cathedral. It is to the left of the archway in the photo below.

    Thanks Paul,

I should be back in Normandy next month, if I get up to Bayeux I'll find it :)

The next day we went over to the Carantan peninsula, and visited the excellent Dead Man's Corner Museum; my daughter noticed they quote me on their publicity leaflet... should have asked for a free entry!

We then went down to Utah Beach.

This pole on the beach reminded me of "Rommel's Asparagus".

We were on Omaha Beach most days as it's such a great place for kids, and usually deserted in the morning, but the weather was especially good this morning and the beach all but empty.

Half-way up the beach you really appreciate how the bluffs dominate here. Anyway, some more tomorrow.

Really great shots once again. Did you edit these photos in photoshop or something similiar? The colors are amazing.

No, I haven't edited them in Photoshop or anything similar. However, they are all shot on manual, which is the best way to achieve good colour as you are in total control, not the camera.

    It's a Cannon EOS 400D. They are up to a 500D now.

Paul / Owen, I think theyve even brought out a 1000D now. Ive got a 30D which is now superceeded by the 50D if not 60D, had a look at a 50 some time ago, and the only difference was a larger screen and some additional gadtery,

You can pick the 400, 450 and 40D's up relativley chealpy. Now Lenses thats a different story. :)
